An exceptional book and gripping read which I couldn’t put down. Both suspenseful and educational and explores a variety of subjects in a delicate and thought provoking manner. Didn’t think Nicola’s first book could be bettered but she has excelled herself again. Highly recommend this book.

Wow, Nicola has written another corker! A dark, compelling thriller with a supernatural twist. The locations make you dream of beautiful sandy beaches and sunny days, whilst being a true page turner that handles sensitive subject matter. The writing lets the reader enjoy the story and keep faith in the restorative power of love.

A friend recommended this book to me as I’m an avid reader of good thriller writing – this book really didn’t disappoint and after reading it in one go, I googled the author looking for more of her books – that’s where I am disappointed as it’s her first and only book so far! Beautifully written with a good balance. Please hurry with the second book – we can’t wait.

One for anyone that has had a ‘deja vu’ moment
Loved it! A wonderful cast of characters, lots of plot twists and turns, thought provoking themes. All written in a way that makes you feel part of the story, I can imagine myself in the garden of the cottage with Emma having a glass of wine…. Will look forward to the next book by this Author!

Great book. Look forward to the next one. Kept me very busy trying to work out what was going to happen next! Very thought provoking. Left it for my daughter whilst visiting her in Australia and hoping she will bring it back when she visits at Christmas so I can read it again. Think I might have to buy a few copies for Christmas pressies. Roll on the new book!

Inspired… It’s a must read!
I’m not someone who reads much fiction and, knowing that she wouldn’t disappoint, I’d pick up something by Joanne Harris if I wanted to lose myself for a few hours. I really wasn’t expecting this new author to have quite the same level of literary prowess but I was wrong, very wrong! I didn’t put this book down at all, the storyline has all it requires to reel you into the worlds of the characters; and then there’s the bonus of a glimpse into the esoteric without it being portrayed negatively, indeed if anything you find yourself identifying with it. This is clever, brilliant, inspired writing and I hope we see a lot more of this author.

Enjoyable read
Thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. It had some lovely colourful descriptions and there was a good degree of suspension to keep me reading and wanting to get to the end. Characters were believable. For a first book it was a great start and look forward to more from Nicola Avery.

Amazing book
Adored this book from start to finish. It was such a page turner. I haven’t read a book that quickly since having my daughter 10 years ago! I loved everything about it, the intrigue, the funny moments, the sad moments, and the very interesting past life ideas. Highly recommend!

Amazing first book
It’s been a very, very long time since I haven’t been able to put a book down. And this is the book! I read it in a day (and night) much to the annoyance of my husband! Brilliantly written and it made me, the reader laugh and cry throughout. What a rollercoaster of emotion. The book is so full of love that it almost jumps out of the page.
